1.10.2013 Kuta - Pura Tanah Lot - Kuta
Als der
Wecker um 9 Uhr losging, machte ich mich gleich bereit 1 Stunde am Strand
joggen zu gehen. Es war bereits sehr heiss, so dass ich das nächstes Mal früher
gehen werde, sofern ich es schaffen werde früher aufzustehen... mein Schlaf ist
mir halt heilig! : ) Hier herrschen übrigens ganz angenehme Temperaturen: Tagsüber um 30 Grad und in der Nacht 24.
Zurück im
Hotel frühstückte ich erst einmal ausgiebig, dann schrieb ich meinen Post von
gestern, der gestern Abend ganz unterging! Danach kühlte ich mich im Pool ab
und schwamm einige Runden. Ich genoss es in vollen Zügen mir für alles Zeit zu
nehmen – herrlich!
When the alarm clock went off at 9 am, I got ready for an hour’s run on the beach. It was already very hot, so that I will go earlier next time if I'll make it to get up earlier... I consider my sleep simply sacred! : ) The temperatures here are very pleasant by the way: At daytime around 30 centigrade, at night around 24.
Back at the hotel I first had an extensive breakfast, then I wrote my post from yesterday, as it got lost last night! Then I cooled off in the pool and swam some rounds. I really enjoyed taking my time for everything - lovely!

Um 15:30 Uhr
war ich dann bereit meine erste Sehenswürdigkeit auf Bali anzupeilen und nahm
den Weg Richtung Westen unter die Räder... Hier fährt man übrigens auf der
linken Strassenseite und zum Glück ging es langsam mit dem vielen Verkehr und den
Tausenden von Motorrädern, so konnte ich mich gemächlich daran gewöhnen! Ich
betätigte zwar noch einige Male den Scheibenwischer anstatt den Blinker, aber
das sollte bis morgen ebenfalls kein Problem mehr sein… 1 Stunde und 30 km
später hatte ich den Tempel Pura Tanah Lot erreicht, der wohl meist
fotografierte Tempel Balis. Da es fast Ebbe war, konnte man den Tempel aus dem
16. Jahrhundert zu Fuss erreichen. Übrigens gibt es hier auf Bali hinduistische
Tempel an jeder Ecke, denn Bali ist die einzige hinduistische Insel
Indonesiens, der Rest ist islamisch.
At 3:30 pm I was finally ready to aim my first sightseeing attraction in Bali and took the road towards the west... By the way, here you drive on the left side of the road and luckily it went very slowly because of the traffic and the many thousands of motorcycles, so I could get used to it gradually! I operated the wipers instead of the indicator a few times, but that should be no longer a problem by tomorrow... 1 hour and 30 km later I reached the temple Pura Tanah Lot, probably the most photographed temple in Bali. Since it was almost low tide, you could walk to the temple from the 16th century. By the way, there are Hindu temples on every corner in Bali, as Bali is the only Hindu island in Indonesia, the rest is Islamic.

Der
Rückweg nach Kuta war genauso abenteuerlich, da selten etwas ausgeschildert
ist... so fuhr ich wieder der Nase nach und fand den Strand von Seminyak auf
Anhieb - gar nicht so selbstverständlich in diesem Strassenlabyrinth! Bettina,
meine Freundin aus Holland, hatte mir hier das Restaurant Potatohead empfohlen,
da aber die Leute Schlange standen, suchte ich ein anderes Restaurant am Strand
auf... Kurz nach 19 Uhr (es war leider schon dunkel!) setzte ich mich ins
wunderschöne Restaurant La Lucciola, wo ich für einmal ein Angus Rindsfilet
genoss…
Zurück in
Kuta parkierte ich das Auto beim Hotel und lief nach nebenan zur HQ Bar um mit
Putra, Rudy und Wayan die Tagesneuigkeiten auszutauschen und einen
Schlummertrunk zu mir zu nehmen.

The way back to
Kuta was just as adventurous,
as rarely anything is signed out...
so I just followed my nose and found the beach of
Seminyak right away – that’s
not to be taken for granted in this
labyrinth of streets! Bettina, my friend from Holland, had recommended
the restaurant Potatohead, but because the people were queuing, I went
to another restaurant on the
beach... Shortly after
7 pm (unfortunately it was already dark!), I sat in the beautiful La Lucciola restaurant
where I enjoyed Angus
tenderloin for once...
Back in Kuta I parked the car at the hotel and walked next door to the HQ bar to Exchange the news of the day with Putra, Rudy and Wayan and to have one for the road.
