Heute Morgen habe ich bis 10 Uhr geschlafen, bis der Wecker mich aus meinem tiefen Schlaf riss. Gestern Abend versuchte ich noch meinen Post von gestern ins Netzt zu stellen, aber das Internet war sooo langsam, dass ich dabei buchstäblich einschlief... So nahm ich heute meinen Laptop mit zum Frühstück. Hier im Kori Ubud Resort & Spa gibt es kein Buffet sondern man wählt zwischen verschiedenen Frühstücksmenus aus - heute entschied ich mich für ein Indonesisches.

This morning I slept until 10 am when the alarm clock woke me out of my deep sleep. Last night I tried to upload my post from yesterday, but the internet was sooo slow that I literally fell asleep... so today I took my laptop with me for breakfast. Here at the Kori Ubud Resort & Spa there is no breakfast buffet but you choose between different menus - today I went for an Indonesian breakfast.

Am Nachmittag erkundete ich zu Fuss Ubud, das künstlerisches Zentrum Balis. Zum Glück war es heute bedeckt, so war es nicht ganz so heiss wie gestern, dafür sind die Fotos auch nicht so leuchtend… Bali erinnert mich übrigens ein wenig an Marokko: Die bescheidenen, äusserst liebenswürdigen und hilfsbereiten Menschen sowie ihre Kunsthandwerkfertigkeit in allen Materialien und ihr Sinn fürs Schöne weisen einige Parallelen auf…
 

Um 18 Uhr setzte ich mich todmüde ins Restaurant Paon, genoss einen frischen Cocktail und da die Menus auf der Karte vielversprechend aussahen (mit Bildern), entschied ich heute einmal früh zu Abend zu essen... Ich bestellte einen Seafood Teller mit Lobster, Krabbe und Thunfisch - geht es mir gut!!! : )

 

In the afternoon I explored Ubud, the artistic center of Bali, on foot. Luckily it was overcast today, so it was not quite as hot as yesterday, but on the other hand the photos are not that bright... Bali reminds me a little of Morocco: The modest, utmost kind and helpful people as well as their skill and art in handicraft with all materials and their sense of beauty show several parallels...

At 6 pm I was exhausted and took a seat at the Paon Restaurant, enjoying a fresh cocktail and because the menu looked promising (with pictures), I decided to have once an early dinner tonight... I ordered a seafood platter with lobster, crab and tuna – what a life!!! : )

Auf dem Rückweg kam ich wieder beim Totentempel Pura Dalem vorbei, wo in 10 Minuten gerade das Drama Kecak (Affentanz) vorgeführt wurde - klar kaufte ich mir ein Ticket und genoss das einstündige Spektakel mit Tanz und a capella Gesang - ein krönender und passender Abschluss des heutigen Tages!

On the way back I passed agin the mortuary temple Pura Dalem, the drama Kecak (monkey dance) was starting in 10 minutes – of course I bought a ticket and enjoyed the one-hour spectacle with dance and a capella chant - a matching culmination of the day!
