Heute Morgen erwachte ich etwas vor 10 Uhr und machte mich gleich auf ans Frühstücksbuffet. Heute versuchte ich all die Köstlichkeiten von der Omeletten- und Waffeltheke...
 

This morning I woke up a little before 10 am and went straight to the breakfast buffet. Today I tried all the delicacies of the omelet and waffle bar...

Danach traf ich Wayan vom Sriti Car Rental. Sein Angestellter Agus fuhr mit mir zur Tourist Police und wir meldeten meinen internationalen Fahrausweis als verloren… ich erhielt eine Bestätigung und somit habe ich jetzt ein Papier in der Hand falls die Polizei mich unterwegs aufhalten würde. Ich holte 2'000'000 Rupien (= Fr. 160) aus dem Geldautomaten für die Automiete für 2 Wochen inkl. Versicherungen und erhielt dafür einen Suzuki Estilo - yeahhh, nun fühle ich mich wieder richtig frei und freue mich diese Insel auszukundschaften! Agus besorgte mit mir eine gute Strassenkarte und begleitete mich zur Tankstelle, wo ich volltankte - hier eine weitere Überraschung: Benzin kostet auf Bali nur Fr. 0.50 der Liter!
 

Thereafter I met Wayan from Sriti Car Rental. His employee Agus drove me to the Tourist Police and we notified the loss of my international driver license... I received a confirmation and thus have now a paper in my hand in case the police will stop me on the road. I drew 2,000,000 Rupees (= USD 170) from the ATM machine to pay the rent for my Suzuki Estilo for 2 weeks including insurance - yeahhh, now I feel really free and am looking forward to explore this island! Agus accompanied me to get a good street map and we drove to the gas station where I fuelled up – here there was another surprise: gasoline costs in Bali only USD 0,55 a liter!

 

 

 

Kuta Paradiso Hotel

 

Zurück im Hotel ruhte ich mich am Pool aus und widmete mich meinem Reiseführer... Das gediegene Kuta Paradiso Hotel mit seinem schönen Palmengarten ist wirklich ideal gelegen, nicht nur nah am Strand sondern auch direkt im Zentrum mit unzähligen Geschäften, Restaurants, Bars und Clubs.
 

Back at the hotel I relaxed at the pool and dedicated myself to my travel guide... The tasteful Kuta Paradiso Hotel with its beautiful palm garden is really located ideally, not only close to the beach but also right in the center with countless shops, restaurants, bars and clubs.

Um 17:30 Uhr setzte ich mich zu Putra und Rudy an die HQ Bar und genoss den Sonnenuntergang bei einem Glas Balinesischen Wein.
 

At 5:30 pm I took a seet at the HQ Bar with Putra and Rudy to enjoy the sunset with a glass of Balinese white wine.

Heute Abend hatte ich vor einmal durch die vielen Geschäfte von Kuta zu schlendern, was ich auch tat, aber gegen 19 Uhr zog mich ein Hüngerchen ins Restaurant Made's Warung - eine wahre Oase inmitten der hektischen Stadt. Gleichzeitig mit mir betrat Jan Paul aus Amsterdam das hübsche Restaurant und wir entschlossen das Abendessen zusammen einzunehmen. Jan Paul ist ebenfalls alleine auf Bali unterwegs und fuhr heute mit seinem Scooter von seiner Grossmutter in Lovina 3 Stunden über die Berge um in Kuta surfen zu lernen. Nach und nach füllte sich das Restaurant und es gesellten sich eine liebenswürdige Familie aus Mauritius und ein junges Paar aus Südkorea an unseren Tisch… Mit anregenden Gesprächen verbrachten wir einen ganz tollen Abend!
 

Zum Abschluss kam Jan Paul mit mir in die HQ Bar, wo wir Peter aus Sydney Australien kennen lernten, und aus einem Schlummertrunk wurden viele und für einmal wurde es richtig spät bis ich schlafen ging…

Tonight I intended to stroll through the many shops of Kuta, which I did, but around 7 pm a tiny hunger pulled me into Made's Warung restaurant - a true oasis in the bustling city. At the same time Jan Paul from Amsterdam entered the pretty restaurant and we decided to have dinner together. Jan Paul is also travelling alone in Bali and crossed the mountains with his scooter on a 3 hours drive from his grandmother’s place in Lovina today to learn to surf in Kuta. Gradually the restaurant filled up and a lovely family from Mauritius as well as a young couple from South Korea joined our table... We all had a fantastic evening with lots of interesting conversations!
 

At the end, Jan Paul joined me to the HQ bar to have one for the road. But when we met Peter from Sydney Australia, the drinks became more and for once it was really late until I hit the sack...
